Balanced & Custom Teams

Team Shake’s default shake produces random teams, but a number of options let you tune team generation to fit your situation.

Balancing by strength

Assign each person a strength level; Team Shake distributes strengths evenly across teams so no team is noticeably stronger or weaker than another. Strength indicators can be shown or hidden on the main screen.

Gender-balanced or gender-separated teams

Team Shake can:

• Balance male/female members evenly across teams, or
• Create separate all-male and all-female teams

Set this from the configuration/options screen before shaking.

Keeping people together or apart

You can mark specific people to always land on the same team (useful for pairing a strong and weaker player) or always be split onto different teams (useful for separating siblings or overly competitive friends).

Temporarily excluding people

Mark someone absent to leave them out of a shake without deleting them from your list — helpful for day-to-day attendance changes in a recurring class or group.

Team names and colors

Customize the names and colors assigned to generated teams from the configuration screen, instead of using the defaults.
